A 12th-grade Algebra textbook based on the Basic Programme.
The Advanced and Basic programmes of upper secondary school differ significantly. In particular, the Advanced Programme provides for 170 hours of instruction per year (two semesters), while the Basic Programme provides for 32 hours per year (one semester).
Of the 32 hours allocated under the Basic Programme, 9 are devoted to revision. This provides a good opportunity to review previously studied material and prepare for the final mathematics examination.
The remaining hours are devoted to the topic “Elements of Mathematical Logic.” The vast majority of the exercises provided for this topic and for revision are accompanied by solutions or answers.
Logic is a tool for life and is essential for everyone, regardless of their profession or interests. It helps us reason and think correctly and teaches us to see the connections between facts and conclusions. It develops critical thinking, an essential skill especially in our time, given the constant flow of information.
