Based on a solid foundation of factual material, the monograph outlines the development of Teryan studies, presents the personal and literary connections between Hovhannes Tumanyan and Vahan Teryan, examines the creative history of a number of works, and explores the story of the friendship between Vahan Teryan and Nvard Tumanyan.

For the first time, Nvard Tumanyan’s memoirs about Vahan Teryan are published in full from the original text and introduced into scholarly circulation. The study also reveals the biographical impulses behind a number of Teryan’s poems.

The work is intended both for specialists—researchers in the fields of Tumanyan and Teryan studies—and for a broad readership interested in the lives and works of these two Armenian classics.
